About the Market

Note to Shoppers Regarding Coronavirus

The opening date of the market is still on June 2nd.

However, as we move through this extraordinary time, please know we are monitoring conditions to ensure we align with both state and national guidelines on social distancing.

We believe our farmers market is necessary for the livelihood of our local farmers and community food access. As such, we will adhere to protocols and containment decisions specific to grocery stores and pharmacies; both considered essential public services.

We will maintain sanitation stations with wipes, hand sanitizers, and gloves for both vendors and shoppers. We will regularly clean access points to the church and restrooms.

For shoppers who aren’t feeling well – for any reason – we strongly recommend staying home and having a friend or relative shop on your behalf. We will also be asking our vendors to communicate and post details on their sanitation protocols.

We will continue to watch and assess all information related to the virus and share updates with you on any impact on the market’s operation.

The Ada Farmers Market currently operates under the umbrella of the Ada Township and is overseen by the Ada Downtown Development Authority Board.  It began from handful of plucky vendors in 2009 and is now more than 30 seasonal and weekly vendors strong today. The Ada Farmers Market continues to develop its broad selection of West Michigan’s locally-grown farm produce, including vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, breads and flowers.

Our market also features special Kids in the Market and, Music in the Market programs, adding more flavors to an already tasty market!

Buying from our vendors couldn’t be easier.  Cash is gladly accepted, of course!  Most of the vendors accept credit cards and checks as well.

The unique atmosphere and high quality has been recognized by the community and in 2012 the Ada Farmers Market received the Silver Townie Award for “Best Farmer’s Market” from On-the-Town magazine’s readers.  We couldn’t be more thrilled with these recommendations from local shoppers. We will continue to use these high standards to make your visit to our market even more convenient, healthy and fun.

The  upcoming 2020 season will open on Tuesday, June 2nd and stay open every Tuesday each week until October 27th.  Mark your calendar, and…see you at the Market!
